Co-Extruded Centre Filled Snacks
Co-Extruded Centre
Filled snacks are extruded snacks with centre core-filling. They add a
new dimension to the normal extruded snacks by introducing the centre
filling which can be sweet or savoury. For making Co-Extruded Centre
Filled Snacks, the flour is mixed with water and fed to the extruder.
The extruder has a die for co-extrusion fit to it. The snacks coming
out of the extruder gets filled with the filling. The filling has to be
prepared separately. The filled snacks (known as pillows) get sealed
and are dried, coated with the flavoring and packed.
